Chennai Egmore Magistrate’s Court refuses to send Nakkeeran Gopal to judicial custody under IPC Sec 124.
Judiciary has stood with freedom of expression said Gopal after the verdict.
He also thanked all those who stood up for him.
Earlier Senior Journalist N Ram expressed his views about the case in the court.
N Ram’s arguments: Sec 124 does not apply here, creates a bad precedent and unnecessarily drags the Governor’s office into unnecessary controversies. Ram spoke after the Magistrate, who noticed him in the audience, invited him to speak.

Nakkheeran Gopal said after his release that the report was published after due investigation and Nakkheeran will continue its investigative Journalism!
DMK President Stalin meets Nakkheeran Gopal and Vaiko
DMK President M K Stalin met Nakkheeran Gopal at Kasturba Govt. Medical Hospital in Triplicane.
He also met MDMK Gen. Secretary Vaiko who is being held in Egmore for sitting in dharna for not being allowed to meet Mr Gopal.
Later meeting the Press, the DMK President queried Why different yardsticks are being applied for those in the BJP and others. He urged that Nakkheeran Gopal be released immediately and warned that those responsible may have to face consequences for their actions at a later date!
