Huge Turn out for DMK rally against CAA NRC in Chennai

  • More than 5000 policemen were deployed to provide security to the rally being taken out by DMK and it alliance parties against CAA NRC Protest today in Chennai.
  • Drone cameras were also used to record videos as per Madras high court order.
  • The rally against CAA started from CMDA office and reached Rajarathinam stadium, a distance of less than 2 km.
  • DMK President MK Stalin, TNCC Chief K S Alagiri, Congress leader P Chidambaram, MDMK chief Vaiko, CPM state secretary K Balakrishnan, CPI state secretary R Muthrasan, VCK Thol Thirumavalavan, IUML chief Khader Mohideen, MMK chief Jawairullah led the rally today.

VP M Venkaiah Naidu presented the 66th National Film Awards

Vice President Venkaiah Naidu distributed the National Film Awards at the Vigyan Bhawan.

Addressing the gathering Vice President Venkaiah Naidu said :

  • Indian films are popular all over they world.
  • They carry an important message to audiences across the world They convey a glimpse of ‘Indianness’ or ‘Bharatheeyatha’ to the outside world.
  • We need to be effective ambassadors in the world of cultural diplomacy.

  • This year’s Dadasaheb Phalke awardee Amitabh Bachchan, could not attend due to health reasons.

  • Aditya Dhar wins Best Director Award for Uri .

  • Award for Best Hindi Film (Feature Films Section) goes to Andhadhun.
  • Sanjay Leela Bhansali for Best Music Direction for Padmaavat.
  • Best Choreography award goes to Kruti Mahesh Madya & Jyoti Tomar for the song Ghoomar from the film Padmaavat.
  • Best Action Direction Award (Stunt Choreography) goes to Vikram More for Kannada film KGF.
