President Kovind presents LL.D to three eminent judges

President Kovind attends special convocation of Tamil Nadu Dr Ambedkar Law University conferring LL.D. (Honoris Causa) on Justice Sathasivam, Governor of Kerala & former CJI; Justice Bobde, Judge, Supreme Court of India; and Justice Tahilramani, Chief Justice of Madras High Court.

Speaking at the function President Kovind said, Our legal system has a reputation for being expensive and for being prone to delays. There are some who tend to use and abuse the instrument of adjournments as a tactic to slow down proceedings, rather than a response to a genuine emergency.

This makes obtaining justice costly for the litigant. It would be a travesty of our republican ethic if a poor person did not get the same access to the law as a rich person. The legal profession must continue to address this collectively, he added.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot Tweeted :

All Chief Ministers of Congress ruled states will be meeting Congress President Sh. RahulGandhi today at his residence to show our solidarity. Earlier also we all have stated that we are with Hon’ble CP and we own the responsibility of the 2019 debacle.

We firmly believe that only he can lead the party in the current scenario, his commitment towards well being of our country and countrymen is un-compromised and unmatched.

The 2019 election was not a defeat of program, policy and ideology of the Congress. Although, it was very unfortunate to see that despite the failure of Modi government on various fronts including the depleting economy.

BJP did manage to hide their huge failures behind their fanatic nationalism wd help of enormous resources n govt machinery at hand. But,in spite all odds,it’s no secret how amidst opposition, only Congress Prez did his best to make it an issue based election n took BJP head on , He added.
