I would like to categorically assure you that no such request was made by PM : EAM Dr.S.Jaishankar on Trumps’s Kashmir remark

EAM Dr. S. Jaishankar in Rajya Sabha :

I would like to categorically assure you that no such request was made by PM. I also reiterate India’s consistent stand that all outstanding issues between India and Pakistan are discussed only bilaterally.

Any engagement with Pak only after it puts an end to cross-border terrorism. I repeat that Shimla Accord and Lahore declaration provide the basis to resolve all issues between India and Pakistan bilaterally

PM must tell the nation what transpired in the meeting between him & POTUS : Rahul Gandhi

President Trump says PM Modi asked him to mediate between India & Pakistan on Kashmir! If true, PM Modi has betrayed India’s interests & 1972 Shimla Agreement. A weak Foreign Ministry denial won’t do. PM must tell the nation what transpired in the meeting between him & POTUS : Rahul Gandhi

PM must come to the house and clarify the statement made by the US President : Congress MP Anand Sharma in Rajya Sabha

US Congressman Brad Sherman apologises to Indian Ambassador to US Harsh Shringla for Trump’s remark on Kashmir

Everyone who knows anything about foreign policy in South Asia knows that India consistently opposes third-party mediation re Kashmir. Everyone knows PM Modi would never suggest such a thing. Trump’s statement is amateurish and delusional. And embarrassing.

I just apologized to Indian Ambassador @HarshShringla for Trump’s amateurish and embarrassing mistake : US Congressman Rep. Brad Sherman @BradSherman Tweeted.

Trump offers to mediate between India and Pak on Kashmir issue

US would like to play its role in bringing peace in the disputed region: US President Donald J. Trump

All outstanding issues with Pakistan are discussed only bilaterally : MEA

We have seen POTUS ‘s remarks to the press that he is ready to mediate, if requested by India & Pakistan, on Kashmir issue. No such request has been made by PM Narendra Modi to US President.

It has been India’s consistent position that all outstanding issues with Pakistan are discussed only bilaterally. Any engagement with Pakistan would require an end to cross border terrorism.

The Shimla Agreement & the Lahore Declaration provide the basis to resolve all issues between India & Pakistan bilaterally :

Extend a financial package to Tobacco farmers facing poor quality produce: GVL Narasimha Rao of BJP in Rajya Sabha

  • Due to drought in the last five years, quality of Tobacco produced is very poor.
  • Farmers are not able to get reasonable or remunerative prices for their crop.
  • In 2015 faced with low quality produce the center extended a financial package to the farmers.
  • I request the Commerce Minister to extend a similar package to the farmers of Prakasam and West Godavari districts in AP.
  • Farmers’ are being penalised for producing more than the quantity allotted to them. But the overall produce in AP and Karnataka are less than their allotted quantity.
  • If the objective is to discourage Tobacco cultivation, Govt. should help the farmers with the transition. But Tobacco has export potential.
  • Govt should come up with a long-term policy for Tobacco keeping the long term interests of the Tobacco farmers.
